A newer version of the Gravity Forms Product Add-ons, 2.5.2, was released on December 8, 2013. In the changelog, it states “* Updated filters for disable of notifications and of confirmation messages.” We will report back after we’ve made the plugin update after hours, but please give the update a try if you’re still having add to cart email notification problems and let us know in the comments if you’ve had success without having to delete each admin notification for your new product forms.

The Gravity Forms Product Add-Ons extension is great for when you need advanced product configurations for your WooCommerce store. You can create unique forms that can utilize conditional logic for different product options and pricing fields.

The base Gravity Forms plugin functionality let’s you create a basic form, and when a user submits the form on your site, you get an email notification. Simple.

We needed a more robust solution for unique product configurations in WooCommerce and decided to go with the product add-ons extension by Gravity Forms which also needs the base Gravity Forms plugin.

When we first bought and implemented the extension, we did not get an email notification every time a user added a product to their cart; essentially “submitting the product’s Gravity Form”. This would get annoying if the store owner received an email notification for every “Add to cart” by a customer. Instead, the “Add to cart” would just add the product to your shopping cart, and if the customer ended up completing the purchase, WooCommerce would email the store owner after all was said and done.

Up to the 2.4.2 version of the extension, we started getting “Add to cart” email notifications for newly created product forms. The forms we created before the product add-ons updates were fine, and were not triggering any “Add to cart” email notifications.

We reached out to the support team at WooCommerce, and as of 12/3/13, their only solution was to delete any admin notifications for the product forms so that we would not get any “Add to cart” email notifications.

Gravity Forms – Delete Admin Notification

Here’s what you need to do to delete any admin notifications on product forms.

WooCommerce Gravity Forms Add-Ons Disable Add to Cart Email Notifications

  1. Login to your WordPress admin and click on Forms
  2. Next, hover your cursor on the form name that is triggering admin email notifications
  3. Hover over Settings, and click on Notifications
  4. It will bring you to the Notification page, and you’ll see a notification that’s created by default called Admin Notification
  5. Hover over Admin Notification, and click Delete

Following these steps will ensure you do not get email notifications from any “Add to cart” submissions when using product add-ons with WooCommerce.
